Event spaces

We are proud to have wonderful and priceless objects within the museum which unfortunately means you cannot get inside of them. We have many interactive galleries including Wonderlab: The Statoil Gallery if you would like an interactive space.

During certain periods of the year, we can offer blank canvas event spaces which are perfect for product launches, exhibitions, fashion shows and much more. To check availability, please contact our sales team on 020 7942 4340

Daytime event spaces range from £3,500 + VAT to £9,500 + VAT. Evening event spaces range from £9,000 + VAT – £15,750 + VAT.

We have a variety of spaces that can be used in conjunction with each other, so please call us directly to obtain a bespoke quote from one of our team on 020 7942 4340.

We can accommodate up to 400 people for a seated dinner in our Flight gallery.

We can accommodate up to 414 guests in our IMAX Theatre, which is perfect for large conferences.

Wheelchairs

The Museum is fully wheelchair accessible.

Lifts

All lifts in the Museum are wheelchair accessible and have audio announcements. The majority of Museum lifts have Braille labelling on the buttons.

Toilets

Wheelchair-accessible toilets are available in the Basement and on the Ground, First, Second and Third floors. They are also available on all floors of the Wellcome Wing. Please refer to the Museum map or the touchscreen information terminals for positions.

Baby changing facilities

Wheelchair-accessible baby changing facilities are available on the Lower Ground floor, in the Basement, on the Ground floor by the Exploring Space gallery and on the Second floor by the Mathematics and Computing galleries.

Induction loops and infrared systems

Induction loops are fitted at the Ticket Desk in the Energy Hall on the Ground floor, at the IMAX 3D Theatre entrance in the Wellcome Wing, in the Theatre, and at the Information Desk and in the show space in Launchpad. The IMAX 3D Theatre is equipped with an infrared system. Headsets are available on request.

Braille resources

Braille information books are available for use in Launchpad and can be requested at the Launchpad Information Desk. Braille labels have been installed in the Who Am I? gallery, to accompany the touch objects.

Some of our spaces have natural daylight, and others can be enhanced with atmospheric lighting by our AV suppliers. Please call us on 020 7942 4342 for further details.

Facilities

There is free Wi-Fi throughout the museum. If you have a specific requirement please get in touch to discuss in more detail

Things to note:

The Science Museum cannot provide an unrestricted dedicated line and bandwidth availability can vary due to demand.

There are no parking facilities onsite.

Unfortunately, our events spaces are not licenced for marriages. However, we have many event spaces to hire out of museum hours that are perfect for dinners and dances. Please see our Evening Event Spaces for inspiration.
