• Q. Can you get inside any of the objects?

    All of our objects are priceless pieces of history and we are unable to allow access inside any of the objects within the museum.

  • Q. Do you have any blank canvas spaces?

    On ad hoc times throughout the museum calendar we are able to offer blank canvas event spaces that are perfect for product launches, exhibitions, fashion shows and much much more.

    The largest bank canvas event space in the museum is our Wellcome Wing Basement. The WW Basement will be available to hire from November 2016 – November 2017.

  • Q. What are your prices?

    Daytime event spaces range from £3,000 + VAT – £8,000 + VAT and evening event spaces range from £9,000 + VAT – £15,750 + VAT.

    We have a variety of spaces that can be used in conjunction with each other, so please call us directly to obtain a bespoke quote from one of our team on 020 7942 4340.

  • Q. What is your largest evening dinner capacity?

    We can accommodate up to 400 people for a seated dinner.

    This can only be achieved in Making of the modern world or Flight gallery.

    Please note: The flight gallery is not available for dinner bookings until November 1st 2016.

     

  • Q. What is your largest daytime conference capacity?

    We can accommodate up to 414 guests in our IMAX Theatre, which is perfect for large conferences.

     

  • Q. Are all of your event spaces accessible?

    Wheelchairs
    The Museum is fully wheelchair accessible.

    Lifts
    All lifts in the Museum are wheelchair accessible and have audio announcements. The majority of Museum lifts have Braille labelling on the buttons.

    Toilets
    Wheelchair-accessible toilets are available in the Basement and on the Ground, First, Second and Third floors. They are also available on all floors of the Wellcome Wing. Please refer to the Museum map or the touchscreen information terminals for positions.

    Baby changing facilities
    Wheelchair-accessible baby changing facilities are available on the Lower Ground floor, in the Basement, on the Ground floor by the Exploring Space gallery and on the Second floor by the Mathematics and Computing galleries.

    Induction loops and infrared systems
    Induction loops are fitted at the Ticket Desk in the Energy Hall on the Ground floor, at the IMAX 3D Theatre entrance in the Wellcome Wing, in the Theatre, and at the Information Desk and in the show space in Launchpad. The IMAX 3D Theatre is equipped with an infrared system. Headsets are available on request.

    Braille resources
    Braille information books are available for use in Launchpad and can be requested at the Launchpad Information Desk. Braille labels have been installed in the Who Am I? gallery, to accompany the touch objects.

  • Q. Do your event spaces have natural daylight?

    Some of our event spaces benefit from natural daylight and others are enhanced with atmospheric lighting to reflect the feel of the exhibition. Please call us on 020 7942 4342 for more details.

     

  • Q. Do you have Wi-Fi?

    The Science Museum has wireless access points throughout the building providing a 24hour service of wireless connectivity.

    Things to note:

    • Science Museum cannot provide a unrestricted dedicated line.
    • Bandwidth varies depending on usage from other parties throughout museum.
  • Q. Are there parking facilities onsite?

    There are no parking facilities onsite. You can find nearby parking on our local map here.

  • Q. How far are you from South Kensington Tube station?

    We are a 5-minute walk away from South Kensington tube station. Please see map for directions.

  • Q. Where is the Science Museum?

    The Science Museum is based a 5-minute walk from South Kensington Tube station.

  • Q. Do you offer museum tours?

    Unfortunately we cannot offer guided tours for events. Our curators are incredibly stretched already so we do not have the facilities to offer this service.

  • Q. Can you recommend nearby hotels?

  • Q. Do we have to use accredited catering, AV and entertainment suppliers?

    Yes, we do have a list of accredited suppliers that can work at the museum. We do not allow external suppliers on-site that are not on our accredited list. Please see our accredited suppliers for more details.

     

  • Q. Can you get married at the Science Museum?

    We do not have a wedding licence at the Science Museum, so we cannot accommodate for wedding ceremonies.

    However, we have many event spaces to hire out of museum hours that are perfect for dinners and dances. Please see our Evening Event Spaces for inspiration.
