Why did you choose the Science Museum?
Valentino requested a venue that was centrally located in London, that also had the technical capabilities to live stream their fashion show taking place in Venice, and the Science Museum fitted this brief perfectly.
Please describe the event.
In the occasion of the Haute Couture fashion show happening in Venice, Valentino wanted to share the experience with some very important clients who could not attend in person, due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Illuminate level 5 was split into 2 areas, creating an area of soft furnishings to watch the live stream, and a dining area for afterwards. These two areas were sectioned off by using Illuminates in-house curtain system, to divide the space and create a more intimate setting.
Guests were welcomed on arrival and were served drinks and canapes by Moving Venue, whilst seated and socially distanced.
The Haute Couture fashion show started at 18.30 and lasted for 30 minutes. Following this, guests were invited to dinner and to enjoy the views over London, as a thank you to Valentino’s clients.
All guests departed at 22.00.
Which space in the museum did you use and how did it enhance the experience for your guests?
Valentino chose Illuminate as it was the perfect venue for their event, due to its architectural features and the view over the city.
We decided to keep the venue as it was, as we liked its modern and clean appearance, introducing some furniture to watch the show and for dinner. The curtain also played a key role in terms of scenography, as it was arranged in different ways throughout the evening.
The setting of Illuminate magnified the overall look and feel of the event.
Did you opt for any bespoke catering or AV during the event?
Moving Venue served bowl food to the tables, including Sage Gnocchi and Grilled Rump Steak, followed by dessert bowls of Chocolate Cherry Cups and Coconut Cream.
White Light managed the live stream of the fashion show, as well as the overall production in the space. The live stream ran perfectly, and they were also able to facilitate a test prior to the event, which was much appreciated.
What feedback did you receive from the guests?
All of Valentino’s guests expressed that they had a lovely evening and did not want to leave at the end of the night, as they were enjoying the views over London!
