Client: Tonies
Event: Capital Markets Day
Date: 18th June 2026
No of guests: 45-60
Event space: Smith Centre
What was the event brief & objective?
As a publicly listed company, Tonies organised for its first time since IPO a Capital Markets Day to update the financial community about its new mid-term strategy, new products as well as international expansion. In addition, we organised an immersive product exhibition to bring the products (Toniebox and Tonies figurines) to life and highlight its use cases in kids bedrooms. While guests also flew in to attend, the majority of non-London based participants followed online through a live (and recorded) webcast.
Why was the Science Museum chosen for this event?
We had already worked with the Science Museum on educational audio content and we really liked the traditional building style of the Smith Centre, as well as the outdoor Courtyard. The Smith Centre perfectly aligned with Tonies’ core ideas; traditional but modern, technologically advanced but down to earth, forward-looking but not forgetting its heritage.
What sort of experience did you want to create?
With our immersive product exhibition, we wanted to bring our products to life. We aimed to create the perfect mix of strategic company presentations, informal exchange between guests and management, with our products being available to everyone at any time.
What made you decide on Smith Centre for your event?
Besides the already mentioned partnership, we really liked the traditional building style, the walls, outdoor Courtyard, breakout rooms that could be used as a cooldown area and that it was part of the Science Museum.
How did this space work for this event?
We used the Salon, a large and bright open space, to hold the main event, while the separate rooms were used as breakout rooms / product exhibition. We used the Courtyard for the reception, catering and networking.
Who were your catering and AV partners? Was anything bespoke created for the event?
From the approved suppliers list we worked with Lucy from Social Pantry and Jon from London Event Productions. Great teamwork between them and both were very flexible on adapting the final proposal several times. I never had the feeling that they just try to upsell; they recommended their ideas and let me decide independently.
On catering, we opted for a basic but stylish selection of modern-style sandwiches and healthy breakfast items such as granola, yogurt and juices. We also ordered custom-made cakes from ‘Cakes by Robin’ that came in the colour and shape of our beloved Tonieboxes.
On the AV side, London Event Production set up a stage, great monitor displays and lightening. Notified supported us with the live webcast.
In addition, we worked together with Linney on the immersive product, which guests loved! We built 3 kid’s bedrooms into the board room of the Smith Centre. Linney also built the branded decoration and product displays.
What feedback did you receive from guests?
“I have never seen this before! This is definitely something I can tell my kids tonight! Thanks for the Science Museum Tonies as well!”
“Great mix of presentations, informal exchange and product-focus. The Science Museum blended in with this perfectly! Was definitely worth it to fly into London!!”
“Great setup, I have never attended something like this in London. Great exchanges, great set-up. Location seems to be perfect for this.”
Client testimonial:
“We chose The Smith Centre at the Science Museum because of its unique building structure and look; the traditional-style walls, the great floor as well as the outdoor Courtyard. Literally every part of the location could be used for a different purpose; from presentations in the main space and product exhibitions in the board room, to personal exchanges outside, as well as breakout rooms as relaxing area, it all fitted perfectly. Lastly, our partnership with the Science Museum on educational audio content made the location perfectly suited for our event! Thanks a lot for Holly, Parveen and the team!”
