Why did you choose the Science Museum for your event? What were you looking for in a venue when you started planning this event?

We chose the Science Museum because we were looking for an event space that could accommodate between 300-500 guests at a convenient location with a modern feel. Our event content was space-themed, and the Science Museum provided exactly the right atmosphere.

What sort of experience did you want to create for your guests?

We wanted our guests to have a professional, inspiring, and thought-provoking experience. This event included a great deal of speaker content, but we also wanted ample options and space for networking.

How did you choose which spaces at the museum you wanted to use?

We chose Illuminate as our event space based on its flexible configurations and the number of guests we had attending. We chose Exploring Space for the reception to fit the theme of our event.

How did Exploring Space and Illuminate work for your event? What was the benefit of using these spaces? What set up did you go for in each room? What were the standout features of these spaces?

Both worked very well for our event. The 5th floor of Illuminate was set up to have theatre-style seating with a stage at the front of the room, which worked well for guests watching the panels and keynote speakers. It was spacious and had a great view. The 4th floor of Illuminate was set up to have round tables with a stage in front, which provided not only a great space for guests to participate in extra panels and content during the event, but also a more intimate space for networking, working, and enjoying refreshments during the breaks.

Exploring Space was an amazing setting for the reception where guests were able to enjoy networking among the incredible artefacts. We had several media and film crews as part of our event, and they appreciated the many wonderful options for visuals.

Who were your catering and AV partners? Did they create anything bespoke for the event?

We worked with Moving Venue for the catering, and White Light for the AV. We kept branding fairly simple and straightforward, so we did not ask for anything bespoke.

What feedback did you receive from guests?

Our guests enjoyed the event and have given us highly positive feedback. The Science Museum is a renowned venue and helped set the right tone and atmosphere we were looking for.

Client testimonial:

“We, along with the UK Space Agency, are very happy that we got to work with the Science Museum for the 4th Summit for Space Sustainability. We found the Science Museum to be a great choice for our event because of its central location in London and easy access to public transport. Illuminate is spacious and flexible to accommodate various set-ups, whilst Exploring Space is perfect for any STEM related events. The “green room” provided quiet and private spaces for our VIP guests and media interviews. The staff were all very friendly, punctual, and professional.” – Krystal Azelton, Director of Space Applications Programs at Secure World Foundation.
