No of guests: 350
Event space: The Energy Hall & Making the Modern World

What was the event brief & objective?
Celebrating a decade of championing women in the energy sector.

Why was the Science Museum chosen for this event?
POWERful Women wanted to hold the dinner in a landmark venue that had a link with energy.

What sort of experience did you want to create?
We wanted our guests to enjoy a lovely meal in an iconic setting celebrating POWERful Women’s 10 years with friends old and new, and to hear from an inspiring female (Baroness Floella Benjamin).

What were the standout features of Making the Modern World, which hosted the dinner?
Our guests commented on how they liked that the tables were surrounded by the exhibits and how the lighting helped to enhance the exhibits in the evening.

Who did you work with on catering and what was the menu?
Food by Dish provided an elegant three-course menu to represent our brand, which included Panzanella to start, a main course of native beef loin, bone marrow potatoes, smoked onion jam and heirloom herbs and a vegetable main course of barbecued hispi cabbage, asparagus, caramelised cauliflower and hazelnuts. A twist on dessert saw guests enjoy a range of canapes including blood orange and dulce de leche tart, vanilla and rhubarb cube and chocolate cups with strawberry ripple cream and baby basil.

Drinks provided by Food by Dish included a sparkling wine reception and apple sour spritz mocktail on arrival, Italian white and red wines throughout dinner paired by wine specialist Ellis Wines with coffee and tea supplied by ‘Change Please’ a social enterprise who provide funds to combat homelessness in London.

Who was your AV partner and what production elements were included?
equip provided all AV production on the night including background music in the Energy Hall and uplighters to illuminate the hall’s pillars. As guests transitioned through Exploring Space, equip created a visually striking tunnel effect with wireless cube lighting.

In the main event area additional wireless speakers were set up to support the speeches. A customised stage, placed between exhibits, featured bespoke graphics and a branded lectern, while four large display screens showcased presentation content and live camera feeds. Spotlights on the upper balcony ensured presenters on stage were well-lit, with additional uplighting throughout the space, in the client’s corporate colours, to enhance the atmosphere. equip also supplied tree lights for a 360-degree camera video piece.

What feedback did you receive from guests?
We received really positive feedback from our guests and the event landed exactly how we hoped it would.
