What was the event brief & objective?
The event was designed to deepen engagement existing donors in our new strategy and engage prospects in our new strategy or core service work. Part drinks reception, part showcase of the innovative work that London’s Air Ambulance’s operational crew regularly do, and partly a nod to the history of London’s Air Ambulance as a medical innovator.

Why was the Science Museum chosen for this event?
The Science Museum offered both prestige and a strong thematic fit. Its focus on innovation and public engagement aligned naturally with the event, while the Medicine & Bodies gallery provided a meaningful context for showcasing medical demonstrations connected to the work of London’s Air Ambulance. Also, it is well connected and in a central location that was easy to reach for our target audience.

What sort of experience did you want to create?
We wanted to create a relaxed, engaging atmosphere that brought London’s Air Ambulance into direct conversation with the Medicine & Bodies gallery. The aim was to highlight its work not only as essential, but as forward-thinking and innovative within the wider medical landscape.

What made you decide on Medicine: The Wellcome Galleries for your event?
Medicine was a natural choice because its focus on human biology and medical advancement closely mirrors the work of London’s Air Ambulance. It allowed the event to sit within a broader narrative of medical progress, reinforcing the organisation’s role as a modern innovator in emergency care.

How did the space work for your event?
We had innovation stations positioned around the edges of the event, a stage in the middle, and poseur tables dotted amongst the exhibits.

Who were your catering and AV partners? Did they create anything bespoke for the event?
Our catering partner was CLINK catering, and we had a mix of cold and hot canape options, wine, and mocktails. They also brought in some special furniture (cocktail chairs, asymmetrical coffee tables, and poseur tables). Our AV partner was EQUIP and they did all the lighting and staging, as well as a custom branded gobo by the entrance.

What feedback did you receive from guests?
Really positive feedback from guests who loved the concept and content of the event.
