What was the event brief & objective?
The event was a wonderful celebration bringing together young people, volunteers, and partners to recognise and honour the incredible achievements of this year’s cohort. It marked the culmination of their hard work and dedication as they completed programmes designed to support their journey into STEM degrees and careers. The day was filled with pride, inspiration, and a shared sense of purpose – celebrating not just academic success, but the confidence, ambition, and opportunities these young people have gained to shape their futures.
Why was the Science Museum chosen for this event?
The Science Museum was chosen not only for its fantastic central London location, but also because it perfectly reflects our mission of promoting access to science. Its reputation as a hub for discovery made it an ideal setting to celebrate and showcase the opportunities that science can offer to young people.
What was the benefit of using Illuminate for your event?
Having access to two fantastic spaces within Illuminate was brilliant, allowing us to create the perfect flow for the day – hosting the more formal workshop sessions on Level 4 and then moving upstairs to Level 5 for a lively celebration later on.
Who were your catering and AV partners? Was anything bespoke created for the event?
We worked with Moving Venue and White Light – both were flexible to our needs. As a small team we don’t have dedicated events team and so having them on hand to support us with set up and during the day was fantastic.
What feedback did you receive from guests?
We received fantastic feedback from our guests, many praising the success of the event. Several have reached out since to follow up and offer further support, which is wonderful. But most importantly, the event created a truly special atmosphere, a unique experience enhanced by stunning views over the London skyline, making it a memorable and celebratory moment for our young people.
