Client: ATOM |Advanced Tomorrow
Event: Advanced Tomorrow Conference
Date: 21st November 2024
No of guests: 300
Event space: The Science Museum
What was the event brief & objective?
To host an invitation-only conference in a unique location and bring together approximately 300 global leaders and decision makers influencing the healthcare and longevity sectors. By fostering deliberation and collaboration on topics ranging from geopolitics, medical innovation, policy change to technological breakthroughs, we aim to spur action highlighting solutions and unearthing opportunities to revolutionise healthcare and longevity.
Why was the Science Museum chosen for this event?
The Science Museum was chosen due to its unique layout, its collections and relevance to the topic of our event. Exclusive hire of the venue allowed the leaders and decision-makers in the field of healthcare and longevity to openly convene, move from one meeting to the other in various galleries, discuss and collaborate on various topics.
What was the benefit of exclusive hire for this event?
The event is an invitation only conference, thus having the Science Museum exclusively for the conference facilitated the nature of the event.
What sort of experience did you want to create?
It was important for the guests to experience a journey for various scientific topics from the top of the museum all the way down to the very last gallery on the ground floor. The goal was to create a journey throughout the day to keep them engaged and active, and provide sensory experiences throughout different galleries.
How did Illuminate, Medicine and Bodies, Mathematics and Information Age work for your event?
We hosted the main conference in Illuminate and held a number of panel sessions and Q&A’s in these galleries.
What catering did you opt for? What inspired your menu choices?
Catering was specifically focused on healthy options due to the nature of our event – health and longevity. We opted for Moving Venue’s ‘Health Hero Menu’ for lunch, which included chicken and salmon to provide a great balance of nutrients. The rest of the menu was predominantly vegan with options including a fried tofu wrap with red cabbage and alfa sprouts, baked pumpkin salad and a plant-based mango mousse.
For the evening meal, Moving Venue served London gin cured salmon to start with a roasted cod fillet with crispy pancetta for the main course. A more indulgent dessert – executive pastry chef Sarah Harnett’s signature sticky toffee pudding – rounded off the dinner.
What production elements were included as part of the event?
The production provided by White Light included sustainable branding, audio, video and lighting solutions for the morning conference in Illuminate. This incorporated a bespoke room lighting design provided by the Project Manager and The Lighting Engineers.
White Light also supported with the group break-out sessions in several of the galleries with audio and video solutions for panel and keynote sessions, as well as assisting with digital signage for guests to find their routes.
What feedback did you receive from guests?
Feedback was extremely positive. Many were surprised of the possibility of the museum being used for conferences. The experience was unique and captivating.
