Illuminate will open for show-rounds from Tuesday 4 December 2018. Ahead of Illuminate’s official opening in February 2019, show-rounds will offer clients the opportunity to experience the highly anticipated space and its pioneering event capabilities first hand.
In advance of Illuminate’s opening, we have also expanded our events team with the appointment of Hannah Orchiston and Catherine Lindsley as Event Sales Executives, and Ella Hagon as Event Operations Executive, all of whom will provide invaluable support in dealing with the increased demand of enquiries due to Illuminate, as well as working across all of our museum’s spaces.
Illuminate is already meeting the increased demand for a dedicated daytime space in the museum, with daytime events such as ‘Cure, Create, Innovate: 9 Young Scientists Transforming Our World’ already confirmed – adjoining perfectly with the Science Museum’s own ethos of innovation and discovery. Celebrating emerging young pioneers in UK science, this day of short-interactive talks –presented by the Blavatnik Family Foundation and the New York Academy of Sciences for up to 400 guests – will spotlight the winners of the 2019 Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists in the United Kingdom.
Situated on Levels 4 and 5 of the Science Museum, Illuminate will offer streamlined event packages thanks to our exclusive partnerships with caterers Moving Venue and AV specialists White Light, ensuring a convenient and cost-effective booking process for clients looking to host anything from dinners and conferences to fashion shows, exhibitions and product launches.
Ben Lheureux, head of events and catering at the Science Museum Group, says: “We are so excited to finally be approaching the opening of Illuminate; such a highly anticipated space that is already exceeding expectations. With an expanded and strengthened team behind it and fantastic supplier relationships, all that’s left now is for clients to see the space for themselves and make full use of its pioneering capabilities!”
